Swedish home cooking: fish cakes and fish gratin for easy dinners
October 27, 2026 – Fiskskaldjur
Not every dinner needs a whole fillet and a long recipe. In Sweden, fish cakes and fish gratin are everyday comfort food, and both are on our shelves: fish cakes (4 pcs) and Mom Anneli's fish gratin. Follow the heating instructions on the product page or packaging.
Serving fish cakes
- Classic: boiled or mashed potatoes, a spoonful of lingonberry jam, and a fresh cucumber salad (pressgurka: thinly sliced cucumber, a little vinegar, sugar and parsley).
- Add melted butter or a simple cream sauce, and a squeeze of lemon.
- For a lighter plate: green salad and a yoghurt-dill dressing.
Serving fish gratin
- Serve with a crisp green salad and lemon wedges.
- A slice of rye bread or knäckebröd with Bregott goes well on the side.
- Add a few cooked shrimps on top for a special touch.
