Our story

A family fish business from Gothenburg since 1974, and in Switzerland since 2021.

Where it started

Fiskskaldjur began in Gothenburg in 1974 as a family fish business, and it still is one. Since 2017 it has grown to five shops in Gothenburg and two in Stockholm.

Our own kitchen in Amhult, Gothenburg, prepares the herring, sauces and other delicacies for every shop, including the ones you buy in Zollikon and Morges.

Every Wednesday morning we buy at the Gothenburg fish auction, where fish and shellfish from the Swedish west coast are sold. We choose what goes to Switzerland ourselves, and it leaves on our truck the same morning.

One truck, one route, every week

From Gothenburg the truck drives through the night via Malmö, the Öresund Bridge, Copenhagen, the Rødby–Puttgarden ferry, Hamburg, Kassel, Frankfurt and Basel. It arrives at our shop in Zollikon on Thursday morning.

We made our first delivery to Switzerland in 2021.
