From the Gothenburg fish auction to your table: our weekly journey
October 27, 2026 – Fiskskaldjur
Fiskskaldjur is a family fish business from Gothenburg, founded in 1974. Every week we carry that freshness to Switzerland ourselves.
The weekly rhythm
- Monday 22:00: online ordering for the week closes.
- Wednesday morning: we choose fish and shellfish at the Gothenburg fish auction. At the auction we inspect the boxes the fishing boats leave in the early morning and select the freshest and finest.
- Wednesday to Thursday: our own truck drives to Switzerland.
- Thursday morning: the fresh fish arrives in Zollikon, where it is cut and packed.
- Friday: home delivery in Switzerland; pickup in Zollikon and at Morges Market. See delivery for prices and details.
The route
Gothenburg, the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen, the Rødby–Puttgarden ferry, then Hamburg, Kassel, Frankfurt and Basel to Zollikon.
Why it matters
- Because we run the whole journey ourselves, nothing waits at a wholesaler along the way.
- Fillets are cut by hand on Thursday morning and sold by weight in steps of 100 g.
- Cooked shellfish such as shrimps and langoustines are cooked in our own kitchen in Gothenburg and packed fresh for Thursday's delivery.
